                          Sabine Simons

With her lifelong love for creating with her hands, Sabine has worked with many different media on her creative path which eventually led her to painting. While she has worked mostly in acrylic, incorporating various other media including inks, charcoal, pastels, and gold leaf, she has lately been working with encaustic, an old but newly discovered medium which involves a mixture of beeswax, damar resin and fine pigment. In her work, she enjoys exploring the interplay between colour, light, shape and texture. Sabine's pieces evolve during a spontaneous and intuitive process and reflect her desire to achieve a fresh and unique harmony of form, movement and colour. Her compositions are predominantly abstract or semi-abstract and aim to excite the viewer's imagination.
