Graham Watts is a Canadian oil painter based in Vancouver, BC, creating original West Coast landscapes, wildlife paintings, Whistler mountain scenes, and cinematic Vancouver cityscapes inspired by British Columbia’s atmosphere, light, and wilderness.
Raised in Guelph, Ontario and drawn west by the Sea-to-Sky, Graham’s creative path began in photography before evolving into oil painting through a deep fascination with atmosphere and light. In the studio, he builds each piece in deliberate layers — balancing realism with expressive colour and bold texture to capture not just what the landscape looks like, but what it feels like.
With a background in business from the University of Guelph and a career spanning marketing and technology — including work with Fortune 500 companies and entrepreneurial ventures — Graham brings both creative intuition and strategic discipline to his art practice.
Self-taught in oil painting, his journey began over 20 years ago with a small canvas and three tubes of paint. What started as exploration matured into a distinctive style defined by vibrant colour, movement, and depth. Today, his original works are sought after by collectors across Canada and internationally.
His paintings are designed not just to depict the wilderness — but to bring its presence into modern spaces.

ARTIST STATEMENT

"I have a gift, it’s not that I paint particularly better than other people — I would never fool myself into believing that. Rather it’s that I’ve taught myself to be patient with my work and patience is a very important variable of success. I believe every detail is as important as the whole. Like every facet and detail of your life being built upon a strong foundation. I want to believe that this gift of patience has translated into the rest of my life… but I’m not sure I’m there yet. I’m still just a masterpiece in the making."
