Bio Jennifer Harwood has self directed her art education by taking classes in drawing, composition and colour through Emily Carr College of Arts and Design, the Federation of Canadian Artists and through mentorship opportunities with Vancouver artist’s Val Nelson and Justin Ogilvie. Having had an interest in visual art at a young age, Jennifer took a detour to study and receive a BA in Contemporary Dance from Simon Fraser University. Jennifer’s next artistic venture led her to a diploma in Graphic Design. Wanting to get back into visual art, she started to get involved with the Vancouver Art Guild and the Federation of Canadian Artists, which she is now an Associate member. The most enjoyable part of painting for her is the experience of putting paint and brush to canvas. Her paintings play with bold colour and creatively interpreting the elements of her subject in an abstract way. Comments are closed.
